President Ruto makes new appointments to key state agencies
Ruto appointed ODM Party Treasurer Timothy Bosire as the non-executive chairperson of the Board of Directors of the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).
President William Ruto has made a series of key appointments to various State Agencies, ushering in a wave of new leadership while also making several changes to existing boards.
These new appointments were made public through a Gazette Notice dated January 17, 2025.

Notably, Ruto appointed ODM Party Treasurer Timothy Bosire as the non-executive chairperson of the Board of Directors of the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).
Bosire, who is a close ally of ODM leader Raila Odinga, will hold the position for the next three years, starting from January 17.
His appointment also saw the revocation of Manoj Shah's previous appointment to the role.
In addition, President Ruto approved the appointment of Bernard William Chitunga as the Chancellor of the Co-operative University of Kenya.
Chitunga, a global development finance professional with 15 years of experience spanning Africa, Europe, Latin America, and Asia, will serve in this role.
His appointment, which took effect on January 10, follows his previous position as a Partnership Specialist at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in Beijing.
The President also appointed Mohamed Ibrahim Elmi as the non-executive chairperson of the National Livestock Development and Promotion Service.
Elmi will serve a three-year term beginning January 17, 2025.
Further appointments include Daniel Mwirigi M'Amanja as the non-executive Chairperson of the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, a position he took on January 10, 2025, and George Wanga as the non-executive chairperson of the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority.
Wanga's appointment took effect on January 17, 2025, and saw Jackton Boma Ojwang removed from the role.
Other notable appointments made by President Ruto include Edwin Sudi Wandabusi as the non-executive chairperson of the Kenya Film Commission, Kadhua Jimmy Kahindi as the non-executive chairperson of the Board of Kenya Fishing Industries Corporation, and Ahmed Kolosh Mohamed as the non-executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Maritime Authority.
These appointments will also last for three years and begin on January 17, 2025.
